AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- The Richmond County Sheriff's Officer responded to a hit-and-run accident on the 2,800 block of Washington Road around 4:45 p.m. Friday, deputies said. Deputies said the suspect vehicle was a 2003 White Ford Ranger with Georgia tag PJH 6995.

Deputies said as they were handling the first accident, they were called to another one on I-20 West just past the Warren Road Bridge overpass.

One of two cars that overturned belonged to the suspect in the initial hit-and-run, 29-year-old Daniel Michael Gentry, deputies said. Deputies said he took off speeding from the first accident and caused the second one.

All victims were transported to the hospital for medical treatment.

Deputies said after the investigation is complete, Gentry could face reckless driving, DUI and suspended license charges.
