AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- Helen Blocker-Adams has confirmed she is running for mayor of Augusta.

The community activist ran unsuccessfully for the same seat in 2005.

Commissioners Alvin Mason and Joe Jackson also say they plan to pursue Mayor Deke Copenhaver's seat once his term expires next year.

Blocker-Adams says she'll hold a formal announcement in the next few weeks.
