AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Despite the quick arrest, the woman who had a gun in her face that night says it brings little relief.

"It's a relief, but that safety and security feeling is still gone," said mother and armed robbery victim Jennifer Howard.

There's little relief for this mother, even after detectives say they've arrested the man who robbed her and her 6-year-old son at gunpoint.

"That's actually the one right there, I believe, that put the pistol in my child's face," said father Donnie Weatherford as he pointed to a mug shot.

The man investigators believe robbed Jennifer Howard outside a North Augusta Kroger is 31-year-old Calvin Thomas Jr.

Calvin and his brother, Kelvin Thomas, were arrested over the weekend on separate armed robbery charges in Richmond County.

"I hope they get the max and pretty much get what they deserve," Weatherford said.

"Honestly, right now, I don't have any words for them. My 6-year-old does. He said, 'I should have hit him mommy.' I said, 'No you don't hit people with guns,'" Howard said.

A hit on her credit card at this Circle K on Walton Way connected Calvin to the North Augusta armed robbery.

As the family tries to cope with what happened at Kroger that night, they say the quick capture is bringing them at least a little peace.

"I'm sure it's not just a relief for me, but the entire community, because these people, they hurt a lot of people, not just us. I know my son sleeps a little better at night knowing they're not gonna hurt him or anybody else again. He's happy with it, and I'm happy with it," Weatherford said.

North Augusta has charges against Calvin -- two counts of pointing and presenting a firearm, armed robbery and the possession of a weapon during a crime.

He will be held at the Richmond County Jail until he is eventually returned to South Carolina to face those charges.

Investigators are still working to determine the identity of the getaway driver.
