Burke County deputies searching for sex offender who fled the area

BURKE COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW)- The Burke County Sheriff's Office is trying to locate a sex offender deputies say has fled the area. Deputies are searching for 40-year-old Tracy Harris of Girard.

Sgt. Dan Lowe says The Burke County Sheriff's Office Sex Offender Tracking Unit discovered Harris moved to an unknown address without registering it with the Sheriff's Office.

Harris was convicted of statuary rape in Screven County, Ga. in 1996. A warrant for his arrest was issued on Dec. 9. He is 5'9" and 180 pounds. Harris has black hair, brown eyes and was last seen with a goatee.

Anyone with information about Harris' whereabouts is asked to call the Burke County Sheriff's Office at 706-554-2133.
