Fire out at old JC Penney building downtown

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- A building fire on the 700 block of Broad Street in downtown Augusta is now out.

The fire was in the old JC Penney building. Officials say they found a wooden structure at the top of the building near the back on fire.

Crews were called to the scene just before 3:30 a.m. No word yet on what started the fire.
