Firefighters evacuate after building collapses in Augusta

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- Richmond County firefighters battled a blaze in Augusta Tuesday morning.

The fire was at an abandoned house on the corner of 13th Avenue and Athens Street. Crews responded just before 9 a.m.

Firefighters ended up evacuating because the house started collapsing, but no one was injured in the fire.

The cause of the fire is still unknown, but an investigator has been called in.
