AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- The hearing for a man accused of raping a Paine College student earlier this month has been continued pending a mental evaluation.
Jairus Rayshawn Dantzler, 18, is being charged with rape, attempted rape, two counts of burglary, armed robbery and possession of a knife on three separate occasions.
The defense requested the evaluation, the district attorney had no objections and the judge signed it into order.
Starting on Friday, the Public Defender's Office has 60 days to have the mental evaluation completed.
After the evaluation is completed, they will have the bond hearing.
Dantzler, a Josey High School student, is accused of two separate incidents on the Paine College campus as well as a home invasion and robbery in February.
