GROVETOWN, Ga. (WRDW) -- The bomb squad was called out to a home in Grovetown Wednesday morning after a suspicious device was found.
A man found a baggy filled with a white, powdery substance and what appeared to be a stem with a wire in his yard on Summerfield Circle. He took the device inside and called police.
Grovetown officers came to inspect the device and called the Richmond County Bomb Squad.
The squad did a field assessment, decided the device was not immediately dangerous and sent it off to the state crime lab for testing.
Testing revealed the white substance was flour.
The Grovetown police chief says violators will face charges if found -- possibly criminal trespassing and terroristic acts.
