AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. -- Talatha Rural Community Water District advises all families west of Chime Bell Church Road served by the district located in Aiken County to vigorously boil their water for at least one minute prior to drinking or cooking.
A major line break in the district's system has resulted in a loss of pressure and service to many of the customers of the system. There has been no confirmed contamination, however, because of the loss of pressure, customers in that area are advised to boil water until otherwise.
Also, any ice made from water that has not been boiled should not be used for drinking purposes.
The district is presently working to correct the problem.
