Bank robbery leads to high speed chase through two counties

AIKEN COUNTY (WRDW) -- Two bank robbers are in custody after a high speed chase through two counties.

It started with a hold up at the Regions Bank at 432 West Avenue in North Augusta.

Detectives accuses George Oakman and David Cassell of holding up the bank, then threw money out the window during a high speed chase.

North Augusta Public Safety officers started a chase that went into Richmond County. Deputies there joined the chase and it ended up back in Aiken County.

Both Oakman and Cassell are charged with bank robbery.
Oakman is also being charged with failure to stop for blue lights and sirens.
