Auto shop owner says he wants his truck back

HEPHZIBAH, Ga. (WRDW)- "They come around this way and you can see the damage then BAM..hit the fence then almost ran slam over me," said witness Bobby Hadden.

Bobbyy Hadden was pinned in between fences after and he says someone broke into Randy's Automotive, stole a white 1998 Nissan wrecker truck, and rammed the fence while fleeing the scene leaving it completely trashed.

"I was scared to death," said Hadden.

This windshield wiper is all that's left of this 26,000 pound truck that was stolen, and this gate is all that's left after robbers ran right through it. All in total damage could reach up to 30,000 dollars.

"It's been kind of traumatic. You know you work hard for stuff and you try to do your best, and it's just sad to know that people have the tendency to take everything from you," said owner Randolph Middlebrooks.

Randolph Middlebrooks retired from the military and started his new business in 2011. He used that truck to recover vehicles, and now that it's gone it's a set back but Middlebrooks is staying positive.

"It's just a blessing that no one got hurt and material things can be replaced and I'll adapt," said Middlebrooks.

Where the truck used to stand is just broken glass and tire marks.
Middlebrooks says it's a mystery how they got it started because he still has the keys in his hands.

"It would be nice for me to come back here and see the vehicle parked here," said Middlebrooks.

But for now he has to park another truck out front to block the entrance, and secure the broken gate. He has just one message for those who stole his truck.

"If you need something that someone else has just ask. the average person would rather lend it then have it taken from them."

There are currently no suspects and investigators are still looking into the case.

Middlebrook says there is a $1,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest, and says security cameras will be one of the first things they're going to get when they install the new gates.
