Update: One airlifted after 2-car crash on Mt. Beulah Road

AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. (WRDW) -- South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a two vehicle accident in Aiken county this morning. It happened on Mt. Beulah Road at Old Barnwell Road around 6:10 Wednesday morning.

Cecil Strawbridge, 21, was driving a pickup truck and a 22-year-old was driving a Buick, the SCHP said. The truck was traveling westbound on Mount Beulah Road and the Buick was traveling south on Old Barnwell Road.

The driver of the Buick ran the stop sign and was hit by the truck, the SCHP said.

The driver of the car was airlifted to Georgia Regents Medical Center with serious injuries, the SCHP said. The other driver was uninjured.

The SCHP said the investigation is still ongoing, but the driver of the car is at fault.
