UPDATE: Escaped inmate found in Savannah

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW) -- The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office confirms escaped inmate Rodney Maxim, 46, has been found.

Officers say he was picked up by the Fugitive Task Force in Savannah, Ga. between 5:30 and 6 p.m. today.

The Sheriff's Office says Maxim will be brought back to Louisville tomorrow morning. He's been charged with Escape.

Authorities say he could be facing an additional ten year sentence. Before he escaped, Maxim was serving a 15 year sentence for theft and burglary.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ga (WRDW) --- Deputies in Jefferson County are currently searching for an escaped inmate.

Authorities say 46-year-old Rodney Maxim walked away from a work detail at the Jefferson County Landfill between noon and 1:00pm Friday afternoon.

Right now there are several roadblocks and checkpoints set up across the Louisville are in case Maxim has been picked up.

Authorities say they have also found all his clothes except his boots.

The Wrens and Louisville Police Dept. along with The U.S. Marshals and Georgia State Prison Task Forces are all assisting with the search.

Maxim is currently serving a 15 year sentence for theft and burglary.
