AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- A teacher at Lucy Laney High School is out on bond after being accused in a metal theft case.
Clinton Blocker, 54, allegedly showed up at the Direct Metals Recycling Center on Sand Bar Ferry Road with seven catalytic converters marked with white X's. The converts were reported stolen on Dec. 30.
Investigators say he sold five converters with the same marking on them to the recycling center last week.
Dr. Carol Rountree, executive director of Student Services, says Blocker will stay on the job while the matter goes through the legal system. Rountree says teachers are only put on leave if they are accused of something that would require them to be kept away from children.
