UPDATE: Augusta house fire being investigated

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- A house fire in Augusta is being investigated as suspicious.

It happened early Saturday morning at 1004 11th Street. Investigators say the fire has been put out, but it is being called suspicious.

No one was home at the time of the fire, according to the fire department. Witnesses told News 12 the tenants of the home moved out the day before.

Investigators say when crews arrived on scene, the fire was spreading from the roof.

Evidence has been taken to the GBI lab to confirm whether the fire was an arson.
