Several arrests made in multi-county drug trafficking investigation

RICHMOND CO., Ga. (WRDW) -- The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division executed 10 search warrants on Thursday after an investigation into drug trafficking activities of a multi-county drug organization.

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency, Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, Burke County Sheriff’s Office and the Taliferro County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation.

The following people were arrested yesterday:

  • Marvin Leon Hamilton, Augusta, charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
  • Ricky Calvin Jones, Augusta, charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of a Firearm by a First Offender Probationer.
  • Lamar Devon Coleman, Augusta, charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of a firearm by a Convicted Felon.
  • Demetrius Dewayne Myers, Augusta, charged with Possession of Marijuana with intent to distribute, Possession of a Firearm by a convicted felon, and Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Crime.
  • Tyree Berria,Keysville, charged with Manufacturing Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana with intent to distribute, and Possession of Cocaine with Intent to distribute.
  • Ronald Eugene Jordan, Keysville, charged with Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
  • Danny Wright, Keysville, charged with Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
  • Ricardo Smith, Keysville, charged with Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
  • Keith Lamont Harden, Keysville, charged with Possession of Cocaine with intent to distribute, Possession of Marijuana with intent to distribute, Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and Theft by Receiving stolen firearm.
  • Gregory Lee Ivey Jr., Keysville, charged with Possession of Methamphetamine.
  • Winston James O’Connell, Interstate 20 in Taliaferro County, charged with Trafficking Cocaine.

The following items were seized, according to the Sheriff's Office:

  • 10 firearms (7 handguns and 3 assault rifles)
  • Over 2 kilograms of Cocaine
  • Crystal Methamphetamine
  • Marijuana
  • Jewelry
  • 11 vehicles (2 Cadillac Sedans, BMW SUV, BMW 745I, 2 Dodge Chargers, Ford Expedition, Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, Chevrolet Suburban, and a Range Rover)
  • $135,857
