AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Richmond County investigators have made an arrest in a 25-year-old murder case.

Jimmy Lee Riley was arrested Monday in connection to the death of 87-year-old Pauline McCoy in December 1986.

McCoy had not been seen by friends for a while, so they called for a welfare check. Deputies found McCoy's body in her living room at her home on Golden Rod Street.

Riley was a suspect from the beginning, but investigators could not directly link him to the murder until an investigator recently reopened the case and found a new piece of evidence.

Riley was taken to the Richmond County Jail and is charged with armed robbery, burglary, possession of a knife during the commission of a crime and murder. He was 26 years old at the time of the murder.
