Arrest made in recent car break-ins

AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. (WRDW) -- Investigators say they've arrested one of the suspects who allegedly broke into vehicles in the Sage Creek Subdivision.

Christopher Griffin, 20, was arrested by Aiken County Sheriff’s deputies and the New Ellenton Police Department. He was booked on one warrant for breaking into a motor vehicle, two warrants for financial transaction card theft, three warrants for financial transaction card fraud and two bench warrants, the Aiken County Sheriff's Office said.

They say he used a stolen credit card from one of the vehicles at the Walmart and BP Gas Station on Whiskey Road.

The break-ins happened during the early hours of April 23-24 in the neighborhood. Not long after the incident, around 3:10 a.m. on April 24, officers say the suspects tried to buy several items with a stolen credit card that belongs to one of the victims.
