AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW) -- The Aiken Department of Public Safety has released a photo of the man they say robbed a Huddle House on Monday morning.

Investigators say the man walked into the Huddle House on Richland Avenue and demanded money.

He is described as a black male in his early to mid-20s, is between 5'10" to 6'2" and weighs approximately 235 pounds. He was wearing a dark gray hoodie, a red T-shirt and light gray sweatpants and covered his face with a white towel during the robbery.

AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW) -- An armed robber is on the run after holding up an Aiken restaurant overnight.

It happened at the Huddle House on Richland Avenue around 2:30 a.m. Monday.

Officers say a heavyset black male entered the restaurant claiming he had a gun.

They say the suspect punched an employee in the face, covered the employee's face with a towel and then ran out after emptying the cash register.

The employee did not have to be taken to the hospital for injuries.

Aiken Public Safety officers and the Aiken County Sheriff's Office are still looking for the robber.
