UPDATE: No suspects identified in armed robbery at Royal Inn

BEECH ISLAND, S.C. -- Investigators are looking for the suspect in an armed robbery at the Royal Inn on Jefferson Davis Highway Friday morning.

It happened around 12:40 a.m. when the victim says the robber knocked on his door. When he opened the door, he says a white male pointed a gun at him and demanded money. There is no word on how much money was stolen.

The victim says the robber told him he had just gotten out of prison after being in custody for 16 years.

No one is in custody at this time. The robber is described as a white male with a goatee. The robber was wearing blue jeans, brown boots, a green sweatshirt and was carrying a backpack.

The victim said the robber got into a blue Chevy S-10 pickup truck with a woman and drove off.
