AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- The man accused of trying to drive down Magnolia Lane, through the gates of Augusta National, is charged with criminal trespass for a second time Monday.
The Richmond County Sheriff's Office said 50-year-old Joseph John Murphy showed up to Augusta National Golf Club claiming to be Adam Scott's father. Murphy said he was meeting the previous Masters champion to play golf, the incident report said.
Deputies said Murphy has no relation to Scott. The arresting officer recognized Murphy from his previous arrest on April 5, according to deputies.
The Sheriff's Office said Saturday night Murphy was told he was not allowed to enter the course and then he left. An incident report says he returned 10 minutes later in his vehicle.
He was charged with criminal trespass for Saturday's incident and faces an additional criminal trespass charge for Monday's incident.
