Aiken woman bit by possible rabid cat

AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW) -- An Aiken woman is recovering after a possible rabid cat bit her in her front yard.

The 87-year-old woman living on East Middlebury Lane Southwest told the Aiken Department of Public Safety that she found a cat hanging around her house. She said the cat was malnourished and she began feeding and brushing the cat.

The woman told ADPS the cat bit her arm while she was brushing it.

According to the report, ADPS took the cat for rabies testing.
