Aiken man accused of striking woman with machete multiple times

AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW) -- The search is on for a man accused of attacking a woman with a machete in Aiken on Saturday morning.

The victim says she and James Washington were arguing inside a home on Alfred Street when the fight turned physical.

She says Washington grabbed a machete, striking her in the head multiple times before throwing the machete into the corner of the room and running away from the scene.

The dog team was called out to search for Washington, but he has not been arrested at this time.

According to the incident report, Washington is a 47-year-old black male. He is said to be 5'9", weighing approximately 150 pounds.
