AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW) -- One person has been sent to the hospital after getting shot Wednesday night.

Officers say they received a call after 9:20 p.m. about shots being fired in the Hahn Village area on Plunkett Avenue.

Officers from the Aiken Department of Public Safety say when they arrived on scene, they spotted a car driving away. When they stopped the car, they found the victim inside, who was on his way to the hospital. EMS was then called to the scene to take the victim to the hospital.

The victim, a man in his mid-20s, was shot on his arm. Officers say his injuries are not life threatening.

Officers searched the area and found multiple shell casings.

Witnesses say they heard multiple gunshots and that two people were involved in the shooting. Officers say the victim was not the one shooting.

At this time, they do not have a suspect in custody or a description to go off of.
