AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW) -- Aiken Department of Public Safety has closed a criminal sexual conduct case at Aiken Middle School.
According to a report, the act happened on Sept. 13.
A suspect was arrested on Oct. 24 and released to a guardian, according to the report. ADPS confirm the victim and subject were 13 years old.
The report was released on Monday after the department waited on an opinion from the South Carolina attorney general concerning crimes involving juvenile suspects.
Prior to Monday, police refused to release any information, saying it needed confirmation from state officials that releasing any details wouldn't break state law.
State law said any information identifying a child cannot be released to the public.
