Aiken County authorities discover a counterfeiting operation

AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW) -- The Aiken County authorities say they discovered a money counterfeiting operation and are now looking for the suspect in connection to the investigation.

The Aiken County Sheriff's Office and Aiken Department of Public Safety say they have issued an arrest warrant for Laquavis Marquis Williams, 20, of Aiken, for forgery.

According to officials, investigators worked for several days on an undercover investigation that started August 19. After searching Williams' home on Ridgecrest Rd, they say they found counterfeit money, and the materials needed for the manufacturing process.

Reports say, Williams was not at home when investigators searched his home.
