AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW) -- An Aiken County man wanted for attempted murder of his ex-wife is now in custody.

Capt. Eric Abdullah with the Aiken County Sheriff's Office told News 12 that Frank Muns was arrested around 6:40 p.m. on Saturday at America's Best Inn and Suites on Gordon Highway in Augusta.

The arrest was made possible through a joint effort between the Aiken County Sheriff's Office, the Richmond County Sheriff's Office Crime Suppression Unit and the U.S. Marshals.

Muns was arrested without incident.

Aiken County deputies received a tip early Saturday morning and observed Muns checking arriving at the hotel in Augusta.

On Wednesday, deputies searched for Muns in the area of Sandy Lane, which is off Reynolds Pond Road.

Investigators say Muns shot his ex-wife twice, once in her chest and once in her arm.
