RICHMOND COUNTY, GA (WRDW) - Dr. Carol Rountree retires as a long time educator, leaving her post as Assistant Superintendent of Student Services.

Rountree's last day was yesterday. She retired after working in education for 40 years.

She says this has been in the works since January and didn't want to make a big announcement.

When asked what her plans were for the future, Rountree said she's planning on working in her yard.

Her replacement has not been announced at this time.
