Accident in Augusta snaps light pole in half

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- Georgia Power was called out to a two-vehicle accident Tuesday morning after a light pole snapped in half.

It happened at 13th Street and Perry Avenue near A.R. Johnson around 8 a.m.

Officials say the driver of an SUV ran a stop sign, hitting the driver of a white vehicle, pushing it into a light pole. The light pole snapped in half.

Georgia Power was called out to disable the pole's live wires.

Both drivers are said to have non life-threatening injuries.
