AUGUSTA, Ga.---Three children and their bus driver are in the hospital after a school bus accident in the 2300 block of Old Savannah Road, right off Mike Padgett Highway.
A black car rear-ended the bus when the bus stopped to let a child off. The child was still on the bus when the accident happened.
Three children and the bus driver were taken to the hospital, complaining of back pain.
Parents were arriving at the scene late this afternoon to pick up their waiting children. Police would only release children to parents who could produce a photo ID.
The driver of the car was not injured, and will be cited for following too closely.
