Fatal Shooting in Waynesboro
One man is dead this morning, another in custody, after a deadly shooting in Waynesboro.
It happened around 8:00 Wednesday night at a house on 1202 Liberty Street.
The victim is 35 year-old Lorne Letwaine White.
18 year-old Robert Smith is charged with his murder.
Robbery after Shooting
Four teenagers are in jail this morning, charged with armed robbery.
Investigators are calling this a crime of opportunity, since it happened just down the street from the fatal shooting in Waynesboro.
Deputies say the teens robbed the Golden Pantry on Liberty Street while investigators were helping to control a crowd of people who had gathered at the hospital where docotrs pronounced the victim dead.
There are indecency laws there. so one teen will have to pay a fine -- of more than 300 dollars for his pants being too low.
These same teenagers could also be involved in another robbery that happened last week.
Robbery Suspect Sought
Investigators want to find a suspect involved in another robbery Wednesday.
A man held-up the Georgia Bank and Trust at 3133 Washington Road at gunpoint.
The suspect is a white male, with a skinny build, unshaven with sideburns.
He was last seen wearing a dark colored ski mask, dark colored sunglasses, a dark colored long sleeve button-up shirt, blue jeans, and tennis shoes.
He was last seen driving a four-door silver colored car with an unknown paper tag.

Taking Back the Streets
Augusta is getting ready to "Take Back the Streets" for a second time.
It's a rally dedicated to making positive choices and avoiding gang violence and crime.
It's taking place this Saturday, September 15th.
The rally will meet at May Park.
The event starts at 6 pm and runs until 8:00.
Nationally known recording artist Trey Songz will be performing and speaking.
Admission is free.
Edgefield County Superintendent
The fallout continues this morning in Edgefiled County after the board there names a new school superintendent.
Members offered the job to Dr. Mary Rice-Crenshaw, and some are calling this a black and white issue.
The votes were split down racial lines.
Aiken County Superintendent
This morning, the search continues in Aiken County for a new school superintendent there.
School leaders tell us they just started going through applicants at Tuesday night's Board of Education meeting.
They haven't made any decisions yet on who will be on the short list.
A job fair is going on today in North Augusta from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Then, a business expo runs from 3:00 to 7:00, both at the North Augusta Community Center.
There will be 50 vendors there.
