AUGUSTA, Ga.---A new waterway in downtown Augusta is looking like more of a possibility.
Tonight, a second meeting was held to talk over outgoing Augusta commissioner Andy Cheek's Ellis Street Option. The project would essentially make Ellis and 12th Street into canals lined with shops.
News 12 was at the town hall meeting, where feedback was again positive.
"It's overwhelming supportive of the plan," Cheek said. "It continues to move forward and people are excited about the possibilities."
There are plans for a third town hall meeting next Thursday, September 6.
