Aiken Deputy Stabbed, Suspect Shot
An Aiken County deputy is recovering from a stab wound after trying to serve an eviction notice.
Investigators say things got so bad, another deputy had to shoot the man.
It happened at a mobile home park at 130 Thomas Park Road.
Investigators say the owner of the mobile home, Chris Godbey, has mental issues and refused to move.
The deputy should be recovering at home this morning.
As for Godbey, he underwent surgery Thursday afternoon.
We're told he remains in serious condition.

Sex Offender Sought
Richmond County deputies are looking for a missing sex offender right now.
Investigators want to find Shawn Rodriguez Collins.
His last known address was in the 2800 block of Rocky Creek Road in Augusta.
He was convicted in 2005 of sexual battery.

Presidential Hopeful in Aiken
Another presidential hopeful is coming through our neck of the woods this morning.
Mitt Romney is on a two day bus tour of South Carolina.
Romney will be in Aiken at 8:00 this morning.
His rally is at 1120 Laurens Street downtown.

Edgefield Superintendent Search
Edgefield county is inching closer to getting a new school superintendent.
The three candiodates are Dr. Mary Rice Crenshaw, now a superintendent in clarendon county;
Dr. Angelia Fryer, an assistant superintendent in Winston-Salem, North Carolina; and Dr. David Mathis, an assciate superintendent in Aiken County.
They'll be interviewed September 10th.

Ellis Street Option Update
This morning, it looks like more people are on board for building a waterway through Augusta.
Commissioners held a second meeting last night to talk over the Ellis Street option in downtown Augusta.
There will be a third meeting September 6th.

Electric Bill Help
