State of the Community lunch covers Aiken growth

August 29, 2007

AIKEN CTY, S.C.---There are lots of changes going on in Aiken County. Officials and community leaders met today for a State of the Community luncheon to discuss the county's future.

The Aiken Chamber of Commerce says the city has seen lots of job growth in the past year. And there are still a lot of things in the works to build the community, including a task force to look at equine growth, a panel created to attract and retain young professionals, and a panel to explore opportunities for Aiken related to the Savannah River National Laboratory.

The city of Aiken is also working with the county to resolve traffic problems because of all the growth.

As a real estate broker who specializes in national clients it would be nice if the City had an up to date DVD. The only one I've been able to find is the History of Aiken..... Until they move to Aiken they could care less about the history. Any chance we can get a DVD? June had them when she was president could there be one lying around that I could copy?
