I-20 major drug corridor

August 24, 2007

I-20 is a busy route for residents in both Richmond and Aiken counties. It's also popular with drug traffickers. Experts say since airline security has increased after 9/11, most drug dealers use cars instead of planes. That makes I-20 a hotspot.

Colombian, Mexican, and Caribbean traffickers also use I-20. They're largely responsible for the distribution of cocaine, crack, meth, and marijuana.
