Joining Forces?
Some in Aiken County are petitioning to make Graniteville, Vaucluse, and Warrenville one town.
Thursday night marked the final meeting before they petition to get a referendum on the ballot.
Supporters say the smaller towns will have a stronger identity and better quality of life if they incorporate.
They're hoping for a vote on the plan by early 2008.

Keeping Cool
The past few weeks have been proof that having air conditioning can be a matter of life and death, but this morning, the Georgia Public Service Commission is trying to do something about it.
Members want to make sure no one pulls the plug on your air, even if you can't afford it.
The commission is considering adopting new rules on disconnections during extreme hot weather.

Hit and Run Driver Sought
Right now troopers are looking for the driver who hit and killed 23 year-old Christopher Jordan of Aiken.
It happened Thursday morning between 5:45 and 6:15 on Mayfield Road. Troopers aren't sure what kind of vehicle was involved.

Burglary Suspect Sought
This morning, Aiken County deputies are looking 23 year-old Antoine Corbitt.
He's wanted for a burglary on Dogwood Drive in New Ellenton.
Deputies say between June 11th and July 17th, Corbitt took $800 and an A.T.M card from the victim's dresser.
Someone later used the card to buy jewelry and some other items.

Drug Bust
North Augusta is a safer place to live this morning now that marijuana, cocaine, and weapons are off the streets.
Sentinel Johnson is waking up behind bars, charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute.
A tip sent officers to the North Augusta Gardens Apartment complex.
They say they found about 6 pounds of marijuana, cocaine, and four pistols.
Police are now looking for others who may be involved.
