AUGUSTA, Ga.---Leo Charette tells News 12 he's run into some problems with his plans to bring a drag strip to the Hephzibah/McBean Road area.

He missed the deadline to go before the Planning Commission in September. He also says he's facing other problems, including the rezoning of the property from agricultural to a heavy commercial zone.

"I've got good hopes, and I'm going to keep having them until there's absolutely no possibility to build a drag strip in Richmond County, but I'm intending on building somewhere," Charette said.

No word yet on when Charette might go back before the Commission.
