Local Update - August 9, 2007

Ozone Warning
Experts with the Department of Health and Environmental Control say conditions are likely for increased ground-level ozone concentrations in some areas of South Carolina.
That could cause breathing problems, aggravte asthma, and impair your body's immune system.
The following counties are under this alert today:
Aiken, Barnwell, Edgefield, McCormick, and Saluda.

Record-Breaking Electricity
As the temperatures go up, so does electricity usage, and we could set another record with that today.
Wednesday, Georgia Power set an all-time record peak in demand at 17,745 megawatts.
The previous record was set Tuesday.

Autopsy Today
An autopsy is expected this morning for a man found dead in a car Wednesday at the Evans Walmart Supercenter.
The Columbia County Coroner says he believes the 46 year-old from Athens died of natural causes.

Missing Sex Offender
A sex offender could be roaming the streets near your children, and the Edgefield County Sheriff's Department needs your help tracking him down this morning.
Deputies say 30 year-old Charles Dozier failed to notify the sheriff's office of a change of address.

Wanted Man Behind Bars
This morning, Marion Lonnelle Pope is charged with domestic violence, carrying a gun, and resisting arrest.
Aiken police and deputies have been looking for him for a quite some time.
They finally caught him near Montmorenci after officers say he tried to run again.
