Perdue unveils health care plan for uninsured Georgians

ATLANTA, Ga.---Today, Gov. Sonny Perdue announced a major new health care plan for uninsured Georgians called the Health Insurance Partnership for Georgia.

Under the plan, there will be affordable health care options for small business owners and employees. The plan also allows small employers to join a private insurance plan and offer employees coverage options similar to the health care options given to workers at larger employers. Small businesses can voluntarily join the program.

The cost of the insurance plan will be shared by the employee, employer and a combination of state and federal funds.
