South Carolina trooper dies in on-duty crash
A 21-year veteran of the South Carolina Highway Patrol has died after crashing his cruiser while on duty.

LANCASTER, S.C. (AP) -- A 21-year veteran of the South Carolina Highway Patrol has died after crashing his cruiser while on duty.
Authorities said 45-year-old Cpl. D. Kevin Cusack's cruiser left the road as he drove on state Highway 200 about six miles south of Lancaster around 3:30 a.m. Saturday.
Lancaster County deputies are investigating the wreck. They released few details, including whether Cusack was responding to a call or had his seat belt on.
Cusack joined the patrol in 1989. He lived in Clover and is survived by his mother and three children.
Funeral arrangements have not been announced.
