AUGUSTA, Ga. --- Sherry Evans says she wants the nation to know how much she loves Augusta. Her story has landed the city in the top 10 'Single Best Town' competition. If she wins, It could bring a major country music concert and daytime TV starts to town.

The competition, set up by the Kraft Singles company in association with Disney, has encouraged viewers to write in and tell the nation why their city is the best. For Sherry, it was her connection to Walton Rehabilitation Center that made her appreciate the city, she says.

Sherry moved here about 6 years ago when her 18-year-old son was seriously injured in an accident. She says Walton gave her a since of community and support, and her son a better life through rehabilitation. She later lost her son to another accident, but her appreciation for Augusta and its citizens remained the same.

She says she did not hesitate to enter the city in the national competition. If selected as the winner, Augusta will be treated to a country music concert to include appearances by several daytime TV stars. The winner will be selected by how many votes the city gains through the online contest.

"This would be a great way to bring entertainment to the patients and people that have helped me," Sherry told News 12.

Voting continues until April 11.
