AUGUSTA, Ga. --- Officers at the Medical College of Georgia have arrested a research assistant and charged her with four counts of forgery.

According to the release, Natalie Murphy allegedly used about eight gift cards, valued at $25 each, that were intended for participants in a Georgia Prevention Institute Diabetes study. The cards were to be given out during home visits and were not.

Officials at MCG are pinpointing the study visits affected in order to eliminate any data that might damage the study’s integrity.

Murphy, who is currently employed at MCG, has been suspended without pay.
