AUGUSTA, Ga. - F.A.M.E. store owners, Raheim Badger and Devalle Townsend are relieved that a 14 year-old boy who robbed their business is caught.

"When I opened the door the dude was standing right [there]. He fired and that was it. I'm just glad that I wasn't shot. I'm just glad nothing's wrong with me," says Badger.

It happened at 4a.m. The store owner was staying overnight because of prior burglary attempts. He says that the boy began firing at him and he was forced to defend himself.

"It's like someone breaking into your home. If someone breaks into your home, you'll be scared. You don't know what to do."

In the crossfire the owner was not injured, but the 14 year-old boy was struck in the side. The boy's name is Derrell McNair and he will be charged as an adult. He escaped with more than $8,000 in merchandise, including pants, shirts and a laptop. Two adults will also be charged in the crime, Jordash Tanksley and his father, Clarence.

The owners say despite everything they'll continue to keep their doors open.

"We aren't going to stop. We're not going to let them scare us away. We are here to stay. We are here to stay."

I dont blame the owner for shooting back either...but I have to say....there is ALOT of holes in this story. I've been to Fame. They dont have $8000 worth of stuff!! Even if the robbers cleaned the store out! But what I wonder....How did they have time to grab 8 grand worth of stuff & have a good ole' fashion shoot out? Something dont jive there! I think its gang related! I know the "skinny owner" gives discounts at the store if you have a tattoo w/ the initials "DMS" He says that is his corporation; but come on!, how many folks get business names TATTOOED on them?

well-well now that the police have gotten one killer off the street, here it is his brother is commiting a crime. Now Darion McNair brother Durrell is commitng a crime with other family members.Parents when are we going to take control and take our city back.I don't blame the store owner for what he did.You work hard to get the things that you want for some wanna be thug to just come in and try to take it.Does this family breed criminals? Do what normal people do and get a job. What these teens fail to realize that if they get their act together they will either be in jail or dead. It's time for them to wake up and see life is not a joke it is for real.Parents stop letting the streets raise your children
