Woman wanted for theft by deception
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is looking for Melisa Lanette Johnson on theft by deception charges.

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is looking for Melisa Lanette Johnson on theft by deception charges.

Investigators say Johnson has been setting up business accounts using the names Payroll r Us; Memory Maker Event Planner LLC; and MM Catering and Events. After receiving checks on the business accounts, they say she then closes them but continues to write checks, knowing the funds are not available.
