Two departments respond to garage fire

July 16, 2007

EDGEFIELD CTY, S.C.---Two fire departments responded to a garage fire around 9 o'clock at Currytowne Station, off Martintown Road.

Homeowners at 27 Phoenix Court tell News 12 they were about to turn off their computer when they smelled a strong "electrical odor". That's when they noticed flames in the garage and ran out of the house.

Merriweather and Belvedere firefighters responded. The warm weather made it hard on the crews, but no one was injured.
