Young family injured in Columbia County accident

COLUMBIA CTY, Ga.---A young couple and their one-year-old were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries after an accident on South Old Belair Road this morning.

Capt. Steve Morris with the Columbia County Sheriff's Department tells News 12 the family's silver Nissan XTerra was heading east on South Old Belair at around 10 o'clock when it collided with a garbage truck heading westbound.

The 35-year-old man, his 29-year-old wife and their one-year-old were all taken to MCG by ambulance.

The driver of the garbage truck was not taken by the ambulance.
