Escaped SC inmate back in custody
Escaped inmate was captured in Kingsport, TN after a brief chase.

ROCK HILL, S.C.---The South Carolina Department of Corrections is reporting that escaped inmate Chucky James Elmore Jr. is back in custody.
According to reports, the Kingsport Police Department in Tennessee received a tip Monday evening that Elmore was at a local hotel. When officers confronted Elmore at the hotel, he fled in a vehicle. He was taken into custody after a chase that ended with Elmore wrecking his vehicle. He was being treated at a hospital for minor injuries.
On February 3, Elmore walked away from the Catawba Pre-Release Center in Rock Hill where he was serving an eight year sentence for grand larceny. He now faces additional charges for felony escape which could add one to 15 years to his sentence.
