18-year-old shot and killed on club dance floor

July 9, 2007

Deputies are looking for clues in the overnight shooting death of a teen at a south Augusta club.

18-year-old Stedmund Deaires Fryer was shot and killed on the dance floor at Club Super C. The club is located at 2746 Tobacco Road.

Around 150 to 200 people were on the dance floor when it happened at around 2:30 this morning.

Richmond County deputies want to talk to anyone who was at the club when the shooting happened. They haven't named a suspect yet, and they don't believe this shooting is connected to any other homicides in the area. However, they aren't ruling that out just yet.

Benny, I'm not sure what you're referring to. We don't censor opinions on this site; all we do is remove profanity and hate speech. Maybe your comment didn't go through. We do have a character limit of 2000 for comments here, and unfortunately if your comment is longer than that, the site doesn't accept it and doesn't indicate to you that it didn't accept it. The IT guys are working to fix that. So if that was the problem, try and break your comment up into smaller pieces.

I hope law enforcement is on top of comments like Anonymous' that starts God down Lucky Street and ask for a guy named lil rion.... and a comment from "dastreetz iz mine, "Dang dey killed my dog but we still got him." If you can make sense of that last one, it may be another clue.

Lets just state the facts. to whom ever wants to know. The owner should be charged and sued. The club should be shut down and we need to look at the parents to take some respondsobility in their childs life. These children need guidance and because they have none, we have lost another young black male to stupidity and ignorance.

Anyone who owns a club where thugs hang out is asking for trouble. Shut it down. These young people need to stop hating each other and being so jealous of what the other has. Who cares? Go to school, get an education, respect yourself and others. Killing isn't the answer. I feel sorry for these young people that don't have any inspiration or goals. What happened to dignity and pride. Get out of the gangs and go to school and church!!!

I just want to say to the family. My Prayers are with you all. To everyone else. The time has come that everyone need to get their life right with Christ. Time is winding down , people are dying left and right. And all you all can do is point the blame at each other. NO point the blame @ the devil, he is the blame. If you didn't know Jesus died for our sins. Now what are you going to repay him with? continuance in sin, God forbids.I never new the guy, but my spirit grieves because it is another soul lost. We should take the time and evaluate our lives and ask our selves if Jesus comes back right now or if he calls my name right now, would I be ready to go back with him. Just going to the club on saturday and to church on sunday isn't going to get you in. You have to have a relationship with him. It is time out for this. The world is in a crisis. I hope I didn't offend anyone, but if the word hit you then you should take that up with the Lord. Jesus loves us, this is not what he had in mind when he gave up his life.
