Man dies in Lake Thurmond

MCCORMICK CTY, S.C.--- A 57 year-old man died Wednesday afternoon in Lake Thurmond.

William Overstreet, of Swainsboro, was spending the Fourth of July with his family on a boat near the Hamilton Branch recreation area.

The McCormick County coroner says Overstreet died when his heart stopped suddenly.

Overstreet had just begun helping a stranded boater when he started having chest pains.

He was taken to shore and later died.

    Please correct typo on headline. Man "Drowns" not "downs", thanks. I'm so sorry to hear about this, hope there are no more tragedies. If word gets out fast enough maybe people will be more careful.
