Richmond County BOE Names Superintendent
This morning, the Richmond County School Board has a new superintendent.
After months of searching, board members have chosen Dr. Dana Bedden.
For the past two years, he's been the Superintendent of Schools in the William Penn School District in Pennsylvania.

Aiken Now Better Protected
There will soon be more protection on Aiken's streets.
The Aiken County Council is giving the Public Safety Department more money after members passed a 113 million dollar budget.
More than a million of that will hire 16 more people, including officers in investigations and narcotics.
More money also means more patrol cars on the road.

Richmond Deputies Understaffed
Understaffing in the Richmond County Sheriff's Department is starting to become noticable on the streets.
The Pope family was robbed over the weekend of thousands of dollars in property on Williams Drive.
A road deputy responded to the call, but it wasn't until two days later that an investigator processed the scene.
Deputies say that's because they are stretched far too thin on the weekends.

Robbery Suspects Still Out There
Investigators are looking for two robbers this morning after a robbery at the Thriftee Supermarket on the 200 block of Sandbar Ferry Road.
Officers say two masked men walked in Wednesday morning, demanding money.
If you have any information, call the Sheriff's Office at 706-821-1080.

Liquor Store Robbery
Investigators didn't have to look too far to find a liquor store robbery suspect.
He was already in jail.
Cameras caught Steven Hill walking out with more than 40 bottles of booze at the Harvard's Liquor Store in Aiken.
Hill was arrested Tuesday, charged with breaking and entering a motor vehicle.
After officers looked over the liquor store tapes, they realized their suspect was already behind bars.
